I accidentally mixed and matched. Jbend vs Straight Pull spokes -Straiight pull are essentially pre-laced in that the holes are already lined up in their lacing pattern just line up with the valve hole -J bend you have to pay attention to the proper lacing for best results -J-bend is more common in bike shops, they most likely will not carry sp spokes so buy extras if making a build with sp -I pursonally have no opinion on which is better/ I have no preference. Calculating spoke lengths If going with a less know brand on your first time take the hub and the rim to the mechanic for measurement. - I purchased Dt Swiss 460rims -Cost $107 for the pair -18mm internal, 23mm external, and depth -460 g -Tubeless clincher 2way -ERD 596mm -Very comfortable/compliant (maybe too compliant more stiffness is ok) -45 mm Maxiss Ramblers fit -Very good price $107for the pair Conclusion The ride feel has improved the bike has better acceleration and is more comfortable, the overall bike is lighter. I cannot conclude that the wheelset is faster, because of the reduced stiffness the rim does not seem to maintian high speed or descend as fast as stock wheelset.
