Construction on the Tema-Aflao Highway is back on after a 15-month stop, but the contractor is warning that work could once again grind to a halt unless the government releases the delayed US$105 million funding.

The project — managed by BHM International (UK) Ltd — covers the 17-kilometre stretch from the Tema Roundabout to Central University, Miotso. It had been suspended in December 2022 due to financial constraints linked to Ghana’s broader debt restructuring efforts.

While work has resumed, company spokespeople like Wisdom Adonu have urged the government to expedite the reinstatement of the loan facility so the contractor can complete the road within the revised 18-month timeline.
