My first trade was -$100 because I didn't wait for the break of the first 5 minute candle. I was able recoup my loss and make a little extra.

I’ve been trading since the early 1990’s and have seen the many changes take place over the years. In my opinion, Risk Management is one of the most important aspects of trading. I am not a licensed professional trader and this is not trading advice. It’s just what I do. I think this type of trading would work well for guys who’ve already retired and are looking for a low-risk way to get into day trading. You may have heard the saying “There are Old Traders and there are Bold Traders, but there are not any Old, Bold, Traders”…think about it. Topstep Trader is a cheap way to get into the business, since you won’t blow out your own account, which many of us have done in the past. I hope at least you are entertained by the videos. I post wins and losses, so you know that all of us lose at times. The key is to protect your account and know when to stop trading for the day. Unfortunately for most of us, the only way we learn that is to lose a lot of money. A very good book about the emotions of trading is “Trading in the Zone”, by Mark Douglas.
