Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution System with Sway Control. This is going to help distribute the weight of your trailer across all the axles of your tow vehicle and your trailer, so that way it's all gonna be riding evenly. You're not gonna have that squatting in the back of your vehicle that you sometimes get if you don't have a weight distribution system. So this is going to help give you more stability and control while you're towing your trailer.

This is gonna have the sway control component to it, so it's gonna help keep your trailer in line behind your vehicle. So if there's a big has to wind, or a semi truck, or something like that passes by, it's gonna help keep your trailer from swaying. And because of the design of this unit you are gonna be able to back up without having to disconnect your weight distribution system. So unlike some of your other weight distribution systems that will require you to get out of your vehicle, go disconnect it before you back up into your campsite or wherever you're going, this system is going to allow you to keep it all engaged and still back up. So one of the defining features of this system is that it is designed to work with your underslung couplers.

So as you can see on the screen there, the underslung is the one on the right that's mounted on the bottom of your trailer's frame. And so obviously there's a big difference between the overslung and underslung. Of you we're to try and use a weight distribution system that was designed for the overslung on the underslung coupler, it's going to make everything much lower, and so things are gonna be out of alignment. So you wanna make sure that you're getting the right system for you. If you do have an overslung or a top-mounted coupler, we do have other SwayPros available for you.

This is designed specifically for the underslung couplers. This is going to have a gross towing weight capacity of 15,000 pounds. That is the weight of the trailer plus the load included. It's going to have an optimal tongue weight, which is the downward pressure on your hitch ball, of 1,000 to 1,500 pounds. So you wanna make sure that that's gonna match your setup.

We do have other options as well for different weight capacities and that sort of thing, so you wanna make sure you're getting the right one for you. This will slide right into your two inch by two inch trailer hitch receiver. You do wanna make sure that your hitch is rated for use with weight distribution. Not all of them are. Obviously, you don't want to overtax your hitch, so it's important to make sure it's rated for weight distribution systems. But this does come with this standard 5/8-inch pin and clip to keep it from wiggling its way out of your receiver tube. We do also sell locking pins. If you want to add a little bit more security, make sure no one's gonna be able to come along and take off with your weight distribution system, you can pick one of those up here at etrailer.com. And again, to make sure that this is gonna work for your setup, couple of measurements here. From the center of our pinhole to the center of our adjustment holes here on our shank, it's right at nine inches. And from the center of our pinhole to the back of this gusset here, it's right at four inches. So make sure that it's all gonna fit with your hitch and the receiver tube. And as you can see, this does have the adjustable shank, so we're gonna be able to move the head up along this to accommodate different height trailers and make sure everything's gonna be nice and level. So if we have it in the rise position like we have here and we we're to move the head to the topmost position, from the top edge of our shank here to the top of the coupler, or where the coupler's gonna sit, we're gonna have a max rise of eight inches. If we we're to flip this over, put it in the lowest setting, we would have a drop of two inches. And these holes are spaced 1-1/4 inch apart, so that gives you a good idea of just the wide variety of trailer heights you're gonna be able to accommodate with your setup with that eight-inch rise and two-inch max drop. If we move our way dow to the head unit, you're gonna have this 2-5/16-inch hitch ball. This is included and it comes pre-installed, so that's one less thing that we're gonna have to worry about buying separately. And having it pre-installed, it's gonna be one less comp
