Enjoy Right Now: The importance of no-camera policies

In 2014, veteran DJ, producer and promoter DVS1 published an article via the online platform XLR8R addressing the growing issue of cell phone overuse in club culture and presented a campaign titled "Enjoy Right Now."

It's 2019, and we're all still addicted to our phones. They're everywhere: on the street, on the train, in cafes and yes, at the club. We've all seen people taking selfies on the dancefloor or endlessly filming a DJ and possibly even wondered what we can do about it. In this presentation, DVS1 will expound on the topic, detailing not only why prevailing phone behavior is uniquely harmful to the party experience, but also addressing the deeper psychological, social and privacy issues.
