Running a millets restaurant is not so easy. Since 2017, Sampath Kumar is making a difference in the way people eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. His restaurant Ecosiri Food Court in Kukkatpally, Hyderabad specializes millets food items -- idli, dosa, pesarattu, upma, payasam, khichidi and so many other items. He started with raagi jaava and slowly expanded the menu. Over a period, he trained his staff to make delicious food items with all types of millets. He also serves payasam/ rice items made with desi-varieties of paddy. Everyday 800 to 1000 meals are served in his restaurants (Kukkatpally, Miyapur and other places), while many customers vouch for his raagi jaava. They do not mind paying little higher price for this healthy meal. Sampath elaborates the process of making these items, which take more time, effort and care, in comparison to normal food items, that are available in normal restaurants. His efforts are well recognized by local customers and also by Government of Telangana. He is invited to serve millets to participants of meetings/ conferences, which are organized by Government of Telangana. Ecosiri restaurant is celebrating the year 2023 as it is also International Year of Millets. As a forerunner in this agenda, Sampath has every reason to celebrate, while his customers celebrate every day - a nice, delicious and healthy meal, each time they enter into this place.
