A Different Gospel: What Galatians means for Mormonism

Описание к видео A Different Gospel: What Galatians means for Mormonism

"You foolish Latter-day Saints, who has bewitched you?"
The Epistle to the Galatians stands in stark contrast to the LDS Church. Paul's letter was written to defend the Gospel against the attacks of those who say that one must simply supplement their faith with certain works of the law to have eternal life. The errors of those in the Galatian Churches and the errors of the Mormon Church are quite similar—both claim that more than faith is required for eternal life.

In this video, Bradley walks through Galatians highlighting the overarching themes of the book, and explaining why Paul's letter refutes Mormonism. The central error of the Galatian churches is not categorically different from the errors of Latter-day Saints, and so studying Galatians helps give insight into how the Apostles would respond to the modern LDS Church.

"I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel—not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed." (Galatians 1:6-9)
