Speaking on the first day of ICEC 2016 – Intelligent Cities Exhibition & Conference, on 28th September 2016, in Fairmont Heliopolis, Cairo, Mr. Alaa Hegazy, Chairman of Gas Cool, gave a speech on Smart Cooling for Intelligent Cities.

Gas Cool was established in 2004 under Investment Incentives law no. 8/1997. Gas Cool is recognized as the largest company in Egypt in the field of refrigeration, central air-conditioning, district cooling/heating, and as the leading provider of absorption/centrifugal chillers in addition to power generation using green energy. Gas Cool’s main mission is to provide the most economical and environment-friendly solutions for district/central cooling and heating, by using different means of energy, namely natural gas, electricity, steam, hot water, etc., and to maximize electric power generation from renewable sources, mainly solar energy and wind energy.

Gas Cool is owned by the Egyptian Oil & Gas sector's greatest players, namely the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (Egas), the Egyptian Natural Gas Company (Gasco), the Petroleum Projects and Technical Consultants (Petrojet), the Egypt Gas Co. (Egypt Gas), and the Egyptian Co. for Distributing Natural Gas to Towns (Town gas).
