Hello y'all! Welcome back to your Veteran channel. In today's episode, I'm excited to share some possibly overlooked disability benefits and introduce you to the MWR program—Morale, Welfare, and Recreation—available on nearly every military base worldwide. This program enhances the quality of life for veterans and their families with a variety of activities. Did you know that veterans with any disability rating from zero to one hundred percent can shop at any commissary on base? This has been in effect since at least January 1st, 2020. Make sure you have your ID card that shows your disability rating and grants you access; if you don’t have this ID yet, I’ll tell you how to get it. Additionally, the Federal Job Preference can give disabled veterans an extra five or ten points when applying for both competitive and some non-competitive federal jobs. This point system advantage is crucial in helping veterans stand out in the application process. These are fantastic benefits that can make a significant difference in your life.
