In 1982, the ""Period Drama Special"" program on Fuji TV aired a special period drama featuring an all-star cast. Shigeru Amachi, who played Yoriki Kazama Samon in TBS's ""Ooka Echizen,"" takes the lead as Yoriki Kazama Samon, a subordinate of Tōyama Saemon-no-jō Katsumoto. The role of Tōyama is played by veteran actor Chiezo Kataoka, a dream casting for fans of period dramas. With the participation of eccentric actors, such as Narita Mikio and Kanda Takashi, the mystery plot is highly engaging. Samon Kamiyama (Shigeru Amachi), a skilled yoriki under the Minami-machi bugyō Toyama Saemon-no-jō Kagemoto (Chiezo Kataoka) and feared by villains as “Samon from the hell,” suspects that the drowning incident at the raw silk wholesaler Shinano-ya was the work of Maruya Rihei (Mikio Narita), a kimono wholesaler favored by the Ōoku, but cannot obtain evidence. The elder Arao Tsushima-no-kami (Takashi Kanda), who colludes with Maruya to plan gold mining on an uninhabited island using prisoners, orders Samon to supervise the prisoners and sends him to the island. Samon, along with his comrades Itō (Fujita Okamoto) and Horikawa (Ryūji Katagiri), takes up his post on the island, but is attacked by assassins one after another…
