The hugely popular Tropic Diver case is now offered for the first time in bronze. Not just any regular bronze, but marine grade bronze, CuSn8. CuSn8 is commonly regarded as the industry standard, this means it can be used below the surface in salt water for a lifetime, with virtually no signs of corrosion. Also the main reason for its long history of nautical applications. CuSn8 bronze is the most expensive bronze material due to the high copper content of 92 percent. Unlike other watch manufacturer that uses aluminum bronze, CuSn8 bronze gives the watch the warm almost rose gold bronze color. The bronze case is sandblasted to give it a smooth matte look. If you’re wondering why it looks like rose gold, don't worry because that’s totally normal for fresh bronze. The case won’t show any signs of patina until it’s been worn outside for a bit.

One of the highlights of this new model is probably the iconic dial design which is now synonymous with Evant. The Tropic Diver Bronze Green sports a dark, military green dial. The dial is finely sandblasted to give it a matte textured finish and then coated with a special paint to give it a low light appaerance. Combine this matching matte applied gilt indexes and you have what is probably the most unique green dial. It is one of those dials you have to see it in person to appreciate the amount of details that has gone into what is seemingly a small area. The luminous gilt lollipop hands are also matte finished to match the matte indexes and matte bronze case. They are in perfect proportion to the minute chapter ring that makes telling time a breeze and matching black date aperture position at 3 o'clock for easy reference.

The Tropic Diver Bronze is water resistant to 300m and still manages a relative low profile of 13mm with a flushed case back ensuring a comfortable fit on the wrist. All watches have been tested to withstand 32 atmosphere worth of pressure on industrial machine.

Why did we decide on a mechanical movement? A basic mechanical movement is assembled together with over 100 parts made with precision engineering. The fact that engineers and watchmakers were able to calculate and develop a device of miniature proportions capable of telling time more the 200 years ago never fails to fascinate. Moreover mechanical movements are self powered and will never need a battery change.

Powering the Tropic Diver Bronze is the Swiss Made ETA2824-2 automatic movement. Why Swiss movement you might ask? The movement is like the engine of a automobile, choose the right engine and you will be able to enjoy trouble free driving. Choose the right movement and you will be able to enjoy accurate timing, reliable power reserve and hassle free maintenance.

Various movements were selected and tested for accuracy, power reserve, resistance to shock and impact. The final contenders were narrowed down to Citizen's 9015 (Japan), Seiko Instrument's NH 35A (Japan) and ETA's 2824-2 (Swiss). The Swiss-Made ETA2824-2 outshine the rest with it's stellar performance. Moreover ETA only supplies movements to reputable manufacturers that adhere to its strict requirements. Only “Elabore” grade movements are used for Evant. One can expect an accuracy variation of +/- 10 seconds with a minimum power reserve of 38 hours.

It is refreshing to know Evant still persist with their philosophy of Swiss movement amidst hundreds of boutique brands that are using asians movements, selling at prices more than the Tropic Diver!

The crystal is the most exposed part of the watch and often the first point of impact. That is why it is important to fabricate it with the best materials and in this case, sapphire. The sapphire crystal glass used on the Tropic Diver Bronze is 3mm thick and domed. Further enhancement were made with anti-reflecting treatment done beneath it.

The crown made from the same CuSn8 bronze allows us to engage different settings and serves as protection from moisture and other elements. The screw-down 6.5 mm signed crown locks and unlock with ease and fluted for maximum grip.

Super-LumiNova were chosen for the Tropic Diver Bronze. Multiple coats were applied for adequate night vision in dark environments.

Thanks to 48mm lug to lug dimensions, the Tropic Diver Bronze sits perfectly on all wrist sizes. The curved lugs wraps around the wrist like a pair of gloves. We call this a gentleman's bronze diver watch. The first thing that comes to mind is probably the now sold out Oris Carl Brashear Limited Edition Bronze diver.
