Speaking of Rainbow, this legend (Ritchie Blackmore) naturally comes to mind. In 1968, Blackmore and his friends formed the band "Deep Purple" (along with "Led Zeppeline" and "Black Sabbath" as the founding fathers of British rock music), during which time he established his status as an irreplaceable master of neo-classical (avant-garde) guitar.
