About 80 per cent of all Indians have a favourable view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and around seven in 10 Indians believe their country has recently become more influential, according to a survey by the PEW Research Center. Furthermore, around 70 percent of Indians believe that their country has experienced a surge in influence on the world stage. The report also indicates that the positive perception of India transcends borders, with a median of 46 percent of respondents from 24 countries expressing favorable views of India. Notably, Israel stands out as the country with the highest proportion, with 71 percent reporting a favorable opinion of India. Conversely, only 34 percent held unfavorable views, while 16 percent did not express an opinion at all. This comprehensive survey was conducted between February and May, encompassing 30,861 adults across various countries, including 2,611 respondents from India. Its aim was to gauge the global perception of PM Modi, assess the scope of India's global power, and explore Indians’ views of other nations.
