With research suggesting only 24% of care homes in the UK provide rooms for couples, despite evidence suggesting companionship is a key part in living a longer, happier life, many face difficult conversations with their partners about what to do when one falls too ill to stay at home. Kaye thinks we’re getting better at having difficult conversations about death but we don’t talk about the chapter beforehand whilst Denise admits that she only thought about care when she had the privilege of caring for her Dad in his own home.
