Severe flooding has hit the Spanish island of Ibiza, where the Civil Guard rescued one hundred forty-eight people after heavy rains submerged streets and homes.

Fifty-nine emergency operations were carried out, with specialist units deployed from Mallorca, including underwater, mountain rescue, and aerial services.

Spain has seen increasingly extreme weather in recent years. Last October, deadly floods in the region claimed more than two hundred thirty lives, making it one of the worst disasters in the country’s history.
