Hello and welcome to Old Ways Gardening and Prepping.🍀 Would like to welcome you each in to our kitchen this beautiful evening. As promised here is part 2 of this absolutely delicious dinner.

No I have not lost my mind nor am I drinking.😉 This is a very old heritage recipe that was fixed up and down the Appalachian mountains range. It is considered a survival meal as well as one that stretches food further. Have to admit that it tastes delicious and Jr is definitely crazy about it. This is a really filling gravy that can fill many hungry people.

Below is the ingredients list for this delicious gravy. It was so good on top of the cream potatoes and it can definitely be served many different ways.

Appalachian Cornbread Gravy

1/2 lb of thick cut smoked bacon, cut in to small dice
1/2 cup of all purpose flour
3 1/2 cups of whole milk or water
2 cups of crumbled stale cornbread
Salt & pepper to taste
