Porsche Mission E concept

Porsche is taking the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show by storm with its very intriguing Mission E concept.
In these past few months, there have been many rumors about Porsche's plans to roll out a Tesla Model S competitor before the end of the decade and now there are more reasons to believe it will happen as the Mission E concept takes the shape of an all-electric vehicle with a maximum range of more than 500 km (310 miles).
It looks like a Panamera from 2025 and adopts an all-wheel drive, all-wheel steering system, with power coming from two electric motors providing a combined output in excess of 600 PS (440 kW) which is enough for a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run in 3.5 seconds, 0-124 mph (0-200 km/h) in less than 12 seconds and a 'Ring time of less than 8 minutes
It employs an 800-volt drive system as well as a new Porsche Turbo Charging system that can recharge the battery pack up to an 80% level in approximately 15 minutes, thus giving enough energy juice for about 400 km (248 miles). Filling up the battery is done either through the 400-volt charging station or via inductive charging without the need of any cables.
As for the interior, it adopts four individual slim and lightweight seats and since it's an EV, it doesn't have a transmission tunnel, so this has freed up some space inside. There aren't any physical buttons and knobs since these have been replaced by several OLED screens and there's also an eye-tracking system that works with a camera to detect which instrument the driver is viewing. In addition, Porsche has fitted a holographic display that extends into the passenger's side and shows individually selectable and controllable apps like media, climate control, navigation, contacts and others.
Porsche doesn't say anything about the possibility of a production model, but it's highly unlikely the concept's "entirely new" powertrain won't find its way into a production car in the years to come, with the Panamera or possibly the smaller Pajun (Panamera Junior) being the most obvious candidates given the concept's shape.
