Tuckerman Ravine Skiing - The Lip

Описание к видео Tuckerman Ravine Skiing - The Lip

I thought conditions were great for early April in New Hampshire. The snow wasn't wind-blown crust or ice, even with the strong winds. The forecast for the summit was for wind gusts exceeding 100 mph on this day.

We hiked up East Gully and traversed over to the headwall where we skied and rode down The Lip. My buddies cellphone popped out of his pocket and you can see it resting on the snow when I ski to him where he is sitting on the lower half of The Lip. I didn't see it and he didn't know it popped out until after we finished the run. Thanks to the GoPro footage, we knew exactly where his phone was and retrieved it the next day.

Our total distance covered on the day was 6.72 miles with an elevation gain of 3,095'. We skied most of the way back to the trailhead. Unfortunately the little headwall had open water, so we hiked back to the cabin and then skied back to the trailhead.
