Thankachan was born at Vithura in Thiruvananthapuram. In childhood he became obsessed with music and dance. But coudn't study technically because he hadn't the money to pay.

Thankachan sought chances to perform at marriage functions and temple festivals. When troops were delay Thankachan got the chance to perform and save the audience from boredom. But as soon as the troops arrived they would kick him out of stage.

Thankachan worked hard, did sveral jobs to live. At last he bacame our 'Thanku' via the Flowers TV show Tamar Padar aka Star Magic. He is an example of determination, self-esteem and so on. His life teaches us lessons, those can't trade for anything.
