We continue the beginner-friendly lecture series introducing basic concepts in #genomics, with a focus on single nucleotide polymorphism (#SNP) data.
This time it is about #linkageDisequilibrium (or often abbreviated as LD). This is a very important concept in its own right, revealing the population history and selection pressures acting on populations. LD is also important in many other applications in genomics (some of these will be discussed in the follow-up videos).
