As Abdullah Öcalan's birthday approaches on 4 April, celebrations and marches are taking place throughout the Kurdish regions, including Turkey, Syria, and beyond. Youth groups in Van (Wan), Diyarbakır (Amed) and Aleppo have organised major events, from marches to cultural performances, to honour Öcalan's enduring legacy. The KCK and Kongra-Gel reaffirmed their demand for his release and emphasised his importance for the Kurdish cause and all oppressed peoples.
