In the 1980's efficiency dictated the re-introduction of the best selling twin engine aircraft made after 1964. The military procured the Beechcraft King Air for all four branches of the US Military. You can find some model of the KingAir on virtually every airport in the world.
Bit of trivia: I have a cameo setting in the right seat during a takeoff in Key West FL.
