The Undertaker eliminated Shawn Michaels to win the 2007 Royal Rumble. A week later on Raw, Taker came out to choose his opponent. WWE Champion John Cena came out, ECW Champion Bobby Lashley and World Champion Batista. Taker made his choice and hit Batista with a chokeslam. On Smackdown, Batista retained his title against Mr. Kennedy. Then Taker stared him down. At No Way Out, Michaels and Cena faced Batista and Taker. Batista hit Michaels with a spinebuster and Taker hit Cena with a chokeslam. Taker taunted Batista, who then hit Taker with a spinebuster. Michaels hit Taker with the Sweet Chin Music, then Cena with the FU to win the match. A week later on Smackdown, Taker sent a message to Batista. Next week, Taker beat Finlay and Batista stared him down. Next week, Finlay attacked Taker during his match with Booker T. Then Taker threw Finlay into Batista. On Raw, Cena and Michaels faced Batista and Taker. Taker threw Michaels onto Batista and abandoned him. Michaels betrayed Cena and Batista won the match. On Smackdown, Taker and Batista brawled. Taker and Batista met at Wrestlemania. Taker hit Batista with the Tombstone to pin him and to win the World Heavyweight Title.
