I am killing all the insects!

Insects are an irreplaceable part of the ecosystem. If they die, you die. Soon enough, you humans won’t bug me anymore. Get it? It’s a pretty funny joke.
Anyway, this plan brings me NO pleasure. Insects sure as hell are better than any of you but if killing all the insects is what it takes to end humanity it’s a prize, I am willing to pay.

About 60% of the total number of animals species on this planet are insects. And you guys have been doing a GREAT job at killing them. In the last 30 years alone, humans have been responsible for the loss of about 58% of insects. If all insects died, it would have far-reaching consequences for the ecosystem.
No insects means the extinction of many insectivores. You can forget about clear water streams and nice lush pastures! And you better say goodbye to 50-90% of your diet that comes from flowering plants. No insects means no flowering plants which means no humans!
