Biserica Fortificata din Crit

🔴 ROM "Biserica fortificata din Criț a fost în evul mediu posesiune a Mănăstirii Cârța. Primele mențiuni documentare datează de la 1270-1272.

În această localitate, acum mai bine de 400 de ani, a fost adoptată prima lege școlară rurală din Transilvania.

Cea mai veche biserică ridicată pe dealul din Criț a fost menționată pentru prima dată în 1270. Nu se cunosc prea multe despre această primă construcție. Se presupune totuși că este reprezentată într-un desen
de pe o strană din actuala biserică, datată 1793.

A fost înlocuită de o altă biserică medievală închinată Sf. Cruci, amintită în 1466. Și aceasta, fiind degradată, a fost demolată în 1810 și în locul său a fost ridicată o biserică sală spațioasă, cu turn vestic, înălțată între anii 1810-1813. Dimensiunile sale sunt probabil apropiate de cele ale mai vechii biserici medievale, pe care a înlocuit-o.

Orga, cu 1450 tuburi, construită în 1813 de maestrul Johann Thois, a fost complet restaurată de către Fundația Michael Schmidt și redată publicului în anul 2013. După restaurare, biserica evanghelică din Criț a devenit gazda a numeroase concerte care abordează stiluri muzicale diferite și în cadrul cărora orga restaurată joacă rolul central.

În secolul al XV-lea au fost ridicate zidurile înconjurătoare cu o înălțime variabilă, între 6-8 m și au fost construite și cinci turnuri.
În secolul al XIX-lea, când rolul de apărare încetase, sătenii au făcut mici demolări și au construit hambare. În incintă a existat și o fântână adâncă.

Degradarea fortificației a început în secolul al XX-lea. În 1908 s-a deschis, lângă turnul din vest, o poartă largă. Turnul de la vechea intrare s-a surpat în 1925, iar turnul din nord-est în 1955, dar acesta a fost reclădit.

În 2013 a fost finalizată renovarea în totalitate a lăcașului de cult, cu o finanțare europeană obținută de Biserica Evanghelică.

In this locality, more than 400 years ago, the first rural school law in Transylvania was adopted.
The oldest church built on the hill in Criț was first mentioned in 1270.
Not much is known about this first construction. However, it is assumed that it is represented in a drawing from a choir of the present church, dated 1793.
It was replaced by another medieval church dedicated to St. Cross, mentioned in 1466. And this, being degraded, was demolished in 1810 and in its place was built a spacious church, with a western tower, built between 1810-1813.
Its dimensions are probably close to those of the older medieval church, which it replaced.
The organ, with 1450 tubes, built in 1813 by Master Johann This, it was completely restored by the Michael Schmidt Foundation and released to the public in 2013.
After restoration, the evangelical church in Criț became the host of numerous concerts that addresses different musical styles and in which the restored organ plays the central role.
In the fifteenth century, the surrounding walls were erected with a variable height, between 6-8 m, and five towers were also built.
In the 19th century, when the defense role ceased, the villagers made small demolitions and built barns.
There was also a deep fountain inside.
The degradation of fortification began in the twentieth century. In 1908, a wide gate was opened near the western tower. The tower from the old entrance was surpassed in 1925, and the Northeast Tower in 1955, but it was rebuilt.
In 2013 the renovation of the entire place of worship was completed
with European funding from the Evangelical Church.
