Reason for this video: A lot of comments lead me to think that most people use Eterna over flog for Fujifilm video. I thought my audience would find this comparison useful. I originally had a longer video but other footage was even more shaky so I scrapped it and used these clips. Everything is old footage from last year so my technique and settings aren't as clean but I hope you can find something helpful in this video even though it's not scientific by any means.

Analysis: As you can see Eterna is really clean, low saturation and contrast giving a soft look while Flog has more dynamic range and color flexibility. In low light I find Eterna and Provia to have an edge in clarity and noise, maybe it's the lower ISO, but in almost all other situations i prefer Flog even if it takes me twice as long to grade it. It's up to your own standards if Eterna is good enough (which it is), but I personally try to push my shots as optimally as I can so I'll be mostly using Flog.

Final note: My method of color grading with Davinci Resolve is really simple and effective as I'm red-green colorblind, so I cannot recommend Davinci enough. It makes the whole process enjoyable, straight-forward and fun. It seems like everyone on YouTube requests a lot of tutorials and reviews but I'm personally more interested in making cinematic content than reviewing. But if enough people prefer color grading guides and shooting/setting tutorials then leave a comment and I'll consider it if it gets enough traction!
