Super Metroid No Drops KPDR in

Given the previous PB was a 57:13, this run looks like a big improvement (it is) and perhaps an outstanding outlier (it's not). I've actually been on several good No Drops KPDR paces that I just wasn't able to finish. In fact in the thumbnail, the VOD I am running against was a 54-pace run that is a few rooms ahead (riding the LN elevator down). By comparison this run was fairly pedestrian... at least up until this point.

Then I hit this kronic boost. I've only started going for it again recently. See I set up for it by holding jump in the morph tunnel, but in the past I'd lost multiple runs by misremembering and pressing shot in the tunnel, consuming a power bomb without opening the yellow door, which makes it impossible to finish the run without a major reroute. The kronic boost was the start of some excellent gameplay. Now it is true my late game golds are not that strong as I'd only finished ten runs and some of those were from years ago, but there weren't any bad golds either, and there were eleven. I had a best possible time 54:54 with eleven splits to go and I managed to finish sub-55. I do plan to keep pushing No Drop KPDR. The dream 53 run is calling me. However I better be ahead entering kronic boost room or else I may need to drop Ridley tank in order to keep up.
