In September 2003 Los Gaiteros De San Jacinto arrived in New York city for their first USA tour. Among the many engagements on their agenda, the band was scheduled to record an album.

Fifteen years later in Bogotá Colombia, we sat down to talk with two of the protagonists of that memorable recording session, Joche Plata and Fredys Arrieta.

The footage you are about to see was captured during Los Gaiteros' visit to NYC and as the group recorded the song “La Bajera”, composed by Fredys Arrieta and included in “Un Fuego De Sangre Pura”, the 2007 Latin Grammy winning album in the category Folkloric Music, released by Smithsonian Folkways.

En Septiembre de 2003, Los Gaiteros De San Jacinto llegan a Nueva York para una serie de conciertos y una sesión de grabación.
En el siguiente video, Joche Plata y Fredys Arrieta observan por primera vez y después de quince años los videos de la sesión de grabación del tema “La Bajera”, compuesto por Arrieta e incluido en el álbum “Un Fuego de Sangre Pura”, lanzado por el sello Smithsonian Folkways Recordings y ganador del Latin Grammy como mejor disco de Folklore en 2007.
