In this lesson, we begin to learn about #arrays and the #area of a #rectangle with Farmer Ben. Using square units on the farm, students learn to count the square units of a partitioned rectangle to find the area. We also learn how to partition rectangles into square units. Whether counting one-by-one or skip counting, students develop a strong foundation to understand the area of shapes. Maybe we can grow some tomato plants along the way!
