How the People You Know Inform Your Sense of Becoming But You Choose if it's for Better or Worse

Everything and everyone that you meet during the course of your life informs your sense of becoming. While you get to decide if whether their influence is a positive or a negative one, I don't believe any encounter is accidental.

More specifically, I think there are four profiles of individuals that general translate as pivotal moments in our growth and healing journey. These are the people who represent hope for the things we have been pushing towards or praying for, the people who serve as lessons (sometimes painful) that inform who we want to be and how we want to show up, the people who serve as warnings, as well as the people who represent a certain degree of consequence for the things we thought we got away with.

While some of these people we remember fondly and others not so much, I think it's important to recognize our own becoming as a result of these encounters, and feel grateful that in all cases when we know better, we're empowered to do better.
