Описание к видео Jacques Ibert - Histoires (1922)

“Histoires” (“Stories”) for piano is a suite of pieces by 20th century French composer Jacques Ibert completed in 1922 and premiered in 1923. As implied in the title, each piece is programmatic and directly tells a story. The suite is multilingual, in that the titles are variously in French, English, and Spanish. The most popular piece in the set is “Le Petit Âne Blanc”, also known as “The Little White Donkey”, and it is frequently played by young students.
