Basic fitment info
Bolt pattern: 5x112 Bolt thread: m14x1.25 Center bore: 66.1 mm Bolt torque: 103 ft/lbs
If you’re used to older Bimmers, the lug pattern was 5x120, however, these days they’ve switched it to 5x112. Otherwise, there’s nothing that stands out about the fitment.

If you own an XDrive model…
If you have an AWD model, you need to pay extra close attention to tire sizes. If you’re going to run a staggered wheel setup, that’s fine, just know that the rolling diameter (overall diameter of tires) needs to be similar front to rear. On this particular platform, UNDER 1% difference front to rear is recommended.

So, how does this translate to actual tire sizes? If you want factory sizes, 225/45 front and 255/40 will work as they’re dead-on even. But who wants aftermarket wheels with weak tires? Here are a few sizes that are within the 1% spec:

F: 245/45R18 // R:275/40R18
F: 245/40R19 // R:275/35R19
F: 255/40R19 // R:285/35R19
F: 255/35R19 // R:295/30R19
F: 235/35R20 // R:275/30R20
F: 245/35R20 // R:285/30R20

Of course, tire sizing will depend on how your wheels are spec’d.

Aftermarket wheel specs overview
The big decision that needs to be made is wheel diameter. 18 or 19” wheels come standard. 20” wheels are also very possible. Between the three, 19’s and 20’s are by far the most popular, smaller sizes are normally reserved for winter tires.

So what about width and offset? Like most BMWs, these take well to staggered wheels. Assuming that's what you want to run, the normal size of the front would be 8-9”, and 9-10” in the rear. Front offset will be around 20-35 while the rear is always higher at around 35-45. A good rule of thumb is to add 15-20 to your front offset and the rear will match nicely.

Wrap up
BMW makes it complicated with a bunch of different chassis codes. But there’s no reason to overthink the fitment. It’s all exactly the same across the G-family, so if you see a wagon or Gran Coupe with fitment you like, it will look just as good on your sedan or convertible.
