Dimarzio 36th Anniversary PAF vs Stock Gibson Burstbucker Pro PAF Humbucker Pickups, CLEAN pt 1 of 2

A carefully recorded back to back comparison of the Dimarzio 36th Anniversary pickups and the stock Gibson Burstbucker Pro pickups.

This video features a comparison of clean sounds. I play some open string 3 note chords to give an idea of the harmonic response, a bit of rythm and some basic pentatonics up the neck, to give an head of how they compare

I also recorded clips of the Dimarzio set with the guitar volume turned down to 5 on each pot. The Burstbuckers were recorded first and then the strings loosened, the Dimarzio's installed and the the strings tuned up. No changes were made to the amp and the guitar is direct into a clean channel of a 65 Vibrolux , 2x 10 type of amp. I measured each hum bucker while it was out of the guitar also.

After a few days of getting my settings together with the Dimarzio's i have to say I love them. They provide greater articulation in the mid to low strings and really sing out above the the 12th fret. They feedback really nicely and just seem to have a much wider dynamic response than the stock pups. The Dimarzios have really revitalised this LP for me and I haven't stop playing it since installing them.

The guitar is a 2007 chambered (probably) Les Paul standard plus top, with an ABR-1 Callahan billet steel bridge. It also features 33uf orange drops caps and standard modern LP wiring. The caps give a slight bump in the treble when the pots are turned down to 5-6.
