Dalila was very attentive, holding Makongo while he slept and protecting him from the cold. Despite her age, she allowed him to nurse, which comforted him.
Makongo received his milk bottle every 3 hours and had also started eating solid food.

Dalila kept him close most of the time but occasionally nudged him to encourage activity. She did not allow Lomako to come near, always keeping him at a distance.
