Rt Hon Robert Jenrick MP (Conservative) confronted Rt Hon David Lammy MP, the Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice, over another mistake from the Ministry of Justice — an accidental email release proposing up to £100,000 per offender per year to live outside prison.

Jenrick called it “a finger in the air approach” and questioned whether this was a responsible use of taxpayers’ money. Lammy’s defence sparked audible reaction in the Commons.
