So you want to know how to tell if a fabric is natural or synthetic? Specially your rugs, scarves, sweaters, pashmina etc?

With so many variations, blends and materials it can be pretty hard to tell if a fabric is cotton, silk, linen, wool or a viscose. I'm going to do a basic test that will hopefully shade some light on this. It's called the Fabric Burn Test.

A fabric burn test is nothing more than burning the end of a fabric so see how it reacts to fire and how it smells.
