Never planned to have 4 kids, but omg I am so glad we do. In fact I was DONE at 2. 
 
2 anxiety filled pregnancies. 2 postpartums spent spiraling and loving my babies but NOT loving motherhood. 
 
If we wanted to try for #3 a lot would need to change. I loved the OUTCOME of a baby, but I HATED the process.

Hated pregnancy. Hated postpartum. Hated feeling like a shell of my former self. I wouldn’t do it again if it meant my whole existence- my body, my mind, my relationship, my life - was going to get flipped upside down again and I’d be drowning hoping to come up for air 2 years later. 
 
I refused to do that to my big 2 kids, and I finally refused to deny the mental and physical toll pregnancy and postpartum took on me. 

“but you look great” HOW YOU LOOK IS NOT HOW YOU FEEL. 
And so much of growing a human and healing, is invisible. 

It’s this exact mentality that leads to 90% of new moms feeling unprepared. 
 
People mistakenly think, pregnancy is natural and therefore EASY. 
but the missing ingredient is INFO on how to heal. All the pregnancy prep is focused on the baby - not the mom. 
 
this is why moms feel invisible. A mom’s health and wellbeing is the #1 predicator of our children’s wellbeing, and yet we are expected to “bounce back” 
 
Before I had #3 I went down the maternal health research rabbit hole. What I found was it’s not complicated - it’s just not taught. 

Having a great postpartum isn’t luck - it’s planning. 
 
The biggest thing is starting during PREGNANCY. You can’t wait until you’re drowning to build the life boat. 
 
So when I found out baby #4 was coming, I knew not only could I handle it, but I would love every minute.
