1995 BLEDISLOE CUP, EDEN PARK, AUCKLAND

The 99th test between the All Blacks and Australia, played at Eden Park back in 1995, featuring alot of names many people would know, Jonah Lomu was in the All blacks side, Sean Fitzpatrick, John Eales, Tim Horan and Jason Little, Mark Ella on the sidelines. There is a short snippet of Greg Cornelson scoring one of his 4 tries back in 1978, I remember watching that game, the memory is as clear as day, that big beard, big fearsome man. Ended up playing against him in the late 80's maybe early 90's, don't remember exactly, when I guess his job brought him to Toowoomba, I dunno, I didn't ask that either. No beard then. Jason Little's family lived about 20km from where we lived, my old man worked for Jason's grandfather and father on some of the best farming land in the country. They also owned and operated an excellent pig stud breeding operation. And of course when I was a member of the worst 1st XV in living memory I played against Michael Lynagh, who of course played for St Josephs Gregory Terrace, in one of the best 1st XV's of a few eras, and they whipped us by a record at the time, 64 to nil. Lynagh had a bad afternoon with the boot that day, only notching 4 from 14 in the days of 4 point tries.
