Hello everyone. I am Disha and in this video I have discussed about an incorrect question of Trigonometry chapter from class 10th Maths NCERT book.

Explanation:

The question says that "sinθ increases as θ increases" and as per class 10 maths NCERT the answer given by NCERT is "True" .

But if we look at class 11th Maths NCERT book ; Chapter 3 which is Trigonometric functions , there is a table mentioned regarding the behaviour of trigonometric functions for different quandarants and the table says :

In the first quadrant (0 to 90 degrees), sin(x) is positive and increasing from 0 to 1.
In the second quadrant (90 to 180 degrees), sin(x) remains positive but decreases from 1 to 0.
In the third quadrant (180 to 270 degrees), sin(x) becomes negative and decreases from 0 to -1.
And in the fourth quadrant (270 to 360 degrees), sin(x) is negative and increases from -1 to 0.

And the graph of sinx w.r.t to x , states the same thing.

From this data, we can clearly understand that the initial statement is NOT ALWAYS "True".

And thus to correct the question NCERT should mention the range of θ, which for this statement to be "True" is 0° to 90°.
