Collin implemented shaders for the digital twin to render the tethers with variable opacity. Now the tethers appear fainter when they are thinner or further away. These new shaders also perform better than the default three.js shaders for rendering lines.

Phil improved the code that generates the tether geometry as well. Now the tether thickness is a function of its cross-sectional area. The cross-sectional area increases with altitude, decreases every time the tether forks, and increases to the degree that the tether is not perfectly perpendicular to the ring.

The precision of the code that tallies up the total volume of tether fibers has also been significantly improved. With the improved calculation, it turns out that 22% less material is needed than was previously estimated.

The tether geometry code was also modified to allow the tethers to fork vertically earlier.
