Ghungroo 2024: Celebrating the Spirit of Dance

All India Dance Festival 'Ghungroo 2024' Showcases Cultural Richness


(Navi Mumbai) 30th June 2024 - The All India Dance Festival, "Ghungroo 2024," took place on 30th June 2024 at CIDCO Auditorium, Vashi, Sector 30 A, Navi Mumbai. This grand celebration of India's rich cultural heritage in music and dance brought together approximately 100 groups and around 1,500 artists, presenting a variety of classical, western, and folk dance forms under one roof.

In these challenging times, particularly post-pandemic, music and dance have proven to be powerful sources of solace and unity. With a vibrant history rooted in ancient traditions, India's diverse dance forms continue to inspire and bring joy to countless lives. In this spirit, Ghungroo 2024 provided a prestigious platform for deserving artists to showcase their talents.

The visionary behind this festival, Mrs. Sinddhu Nair, remarked, "This is a great platform for all deserving artists. India’s diverse art forms of dance represent our common civilization philosophy and values such as harmony, unity, and solidarity. The festival also emphasizes devotion and spirituality, showcasing the nine 'Rasas' that constitute human existence."

Reflecting on the impact of the pandemic on the performing arts industry, Mrs. Nair added, "Artists and institutions must find new avenues to propagate and preserve our traditions."

The event was honored by the presence of numerous dignitaries, including Honorable EX MP Dr. Sanjeev Ganesh Naik, Smt. Kalpana Sanjeev Naik, Smt. Ghungroo 2024 featured performances from artists across India, showcasing a wide array of dance forms including Yakshagana, Sattriya, Odissi, Mohiniattam, Bharatnatyam, Kathak, Kuchipudi, Garbha, Bhagda, Lavani, Sambalpuri, Salsa, Bihu, Contemporary, Bollywood, and Semi-Classical Fusion. The classical dance session was curated by renowned choreographer Guru Jayashree Nair.

This festival was unique in that it was free of charge, with no entry fees or tickets sold. It was supported by the Indian Film & Television Choreographers Association (IFTCA), All India Artist Association (AIAA), Manu Brain, New Era Hospital, Violet Studio, Vibgyor, Memory Makers, and other associates.
