In today's video on AgriTalk by Abhinav Roy, we sit with Kavita mishra, a karnataka based farmer following an integrated farming model including horticulture, agro forestry and animal husbandry.

We discussed about Kavitha Mishra's journey in agriculture from turning an arid land into a complete 10 acre farming ecoystem.

When kavita Mishra started her journey, she used excess chemicals to increase her production in pomegranate for 3 years only to face heavy losses in the fourth year. This was primarily due to excessive input costs and uncertainty in the market. This experience forced her to rethink the way she should do her agricukture which is where she explored agro-forestry and integarted farming.

Today at her farm she has more than - 2500 Sandalwood
800 Pomegranate
600 Mango
600 Custard Apple
600 Guava
100 Black Jamun
100 Bear Fruit
100 Lemon
100 Amla
100 Teak
Coconut

and more.

In this episode we have further discussed about sandalwood farming and how one can earn up to 4 crore per acre at least if they are patient and plant sandalwood in one acre.
We have understood other details of sandalwood farming including:

-- Importance of variety selection and safety in sandalwood
