1909: Villa of the Mysteries & Anglo Persian Oil Company

In this year in history, Merisa begins by describing the surprisingly well-preserved Italian Villa and the frescoes which were discovered inside. Jordan continues by talking about the first oil company to drill in the Middle East, and the drama and controversy it has carried even to this day.   

This podcast series is about anything from well-known international events to obscure moments in history. We’re not historians, just two long time friends learning about occurrences that interest us from the 20th century, and then sharing them with each other. Every episode will cover a different topic from each of us, which happened in that year, starting with the year 1900.
