Moses Swaray - Keep On Trying video

Описание к видео Moses Swaray - Keep On Trying video

"Keep On Trying" written and composed by Moses Swaray has captured the hearts of the Liberian people from the President to Liberia's ex-child soldiers.

Swaray, at 19 years of age had an eventful life, an outcast himself having been born an albino in Montserrado County. At the age of 2 he escaped the war by travelling with his mother from Liberia to the Ivory Coast, he later changed his own name aged 6 from Musa to Moses, and was left for dead by a hit and run driver aged 15.

Moses was discovered when he won a musical talent hunt funded by the Liberian overnment and the UN Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) called "A Star is Born" and was invited by the President to sing his song at Liberia's 161st Anniversary of Independence celebrations. There, he met UK based charity "His Church" and joined in part of their relief and development operations in Liberia, meeting some of the former street children who had fought as child soldiers in the Civil War.

Though living in abject poverty, without parents, homes, education and often without food, the ex-combatants were inspired by and learned Moses' song.

The video to "Keep on Trying" was filmed in a town on the outskirts of Liberia's capital and features the ex-child soldiers singing the backing vocals.
