Last year that was a lot of hype around the Ferrari 458 and many people would prefer it to the newer 488. However, the used car market changed drastically. In this video you will find out what that meant for the 458 and 488 prices.

We start with a high level overview of the mid-engine Ferrari market. This reveals that the 458 and 488 are really in a different league then the Ferrari 360 and F430. Yet, when we zoom in to the 458 and 488 market, we also see that there are some significant price differences. When we look at the price development during last year, we can see that both the 458 and 488 went up. Yet, the increase for the 458 is much more severe. Also when we split the market between the coupes and spiders, we can see that the 458s went up more than the 488s. Notwithstanding the price increase, the mileage sensitivity hardly changed.
At the end of the video we will compare the price increase in the 458 and 488 market to the price increase for some other supercars. This comparison reveals that the increase in the 458 market belongs to one of the more severe increases. The increase in the 488 market is more in line with what we saw in the F430 and 360 market.
