The Pakistani American community of Greater Houston proudly celebrated Pakistan Independence Day 2025 with unity, strength, and vibrant cultural spirit. From August 14th onward, the city came alive with flag-hoisting ceremonies, art exhibitions, and cultural performances, showcasing Pakistan’s rich traditions.

Media personality Falak Zehra provided exclusive coverage, capturing every memorable moment and interviewing key community leaders:

Muhammad Saeed Shaikh – President, Houston-Karachi Sister City Association

Siraj Narsi – President, Pakistan Association of Greater Houston (PAGH)

Mohammad Aftab Chaudhary – Consul General of Pakistan, Houston

The celebrations also highlighted the resilience of the Pakistani diaspora in North America, who have always stood united in both joy and hardship—whether during earthquakes, floods, COVID-19, or extreme weather events. This year, leaders also emphasized ongoing flood relief efforts for Pakistan.

One of the proud achievements of the community is the Pakistan Center in Houston, home to Jinnah Hall—the only facility of its kind in the United States—established through the vision of PAGH leadership. Today, it hosts cultural, educational, and awareness programs, including Kitab Aur Chai.

This year’s Independence Day celebrations remind us that Azadi is not only about celebration but also responsibility—a commitment to Pakistan’s founders’ legacy, and to strengthening the bonds between Pakistan and its diaspora worldwide.
