MOB DEPLOY REDEPLOY DEMOB How It Works Army National Guard

Описание к видео MOB DEPLOY REDEPLOY DEMOB How It Works Army National Guard

In this video, I give you the oversimplified (but long) answer to a simple question from the National Guard sub-Reddit: How long is the DEMOB process?

Hang in there, I eventually answer the question but first give you context to how a unit is selected, Mobilize (MOB), Deploy forward, Redeploy, and Demobilize (DEMOB).

Here are a few references I mention in the video:

The U.S. Military Request for Forces process (RFF) is covered under Joint Publication (JP 3-35 – Deployment and Redeployment Operations) and this is a tool used to request support by a Combatant Command once an enduring need is identified. https://www.jcs.mil/Portals/36/Docume...

Here’s another lengthy resource that covers Resource Management produced by the Army War College, if you find yourself with some downtime during drill weekend: https://www.g8.army.mil/references/ht...

I also discuss the 11 Combatant Commands. Below is a link to the DoD page outlining them except for the Space Command. You’ll need to google that separately but as of summer of 2019, it’s a real thing. Not sure why it’s not listed on the DoD website. https://dod.defense.gov/About/Militar...

CORRECTION: I reference DoD military "divisions" but meant to say military "departments". They are Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Joint Chiefs.

Additionally, I discuss the role of USFORSCOM in managing and resources forces to support Combatant Commands. You can read more about it here: https://www.army.mil/info/organizatio...

and a great article about FORSCOM here: https://www.army.mil/article/225195/f...

Task-organized under FORSCOM is First Army. Here’s a link to their site: https://www.first.army.mil/

Here’s a great article on the DEMOB process: https://www.army.mil/article/84766/de...

A little about National Guard Bureau (NGB) as referenced on the video on the link below. However, keep in mind that within NGB you have Army National Guard (ARNG) and Air National Guard (ANG) which are both T10 (federal) entities that oversee strategy and resourcing for their National Guard.

Here’s another little nugget on deployment/redeployment cycle: https://www.military.com/deployment/d...

I’m sure I missed something but as I know you’re good NCOs, I’m sure this is sufficient to get you started on your research.

Enjoy!
