Comeng & Siemens Trains on the Cranbourne & Pakenham Lines - Metro Trains Melbourne

Описание к видео Comeng & Siemens Trains on the Cranbourne & Pakenham Lines - Metro Trains Melbourne

In this video we see some Metro Trains Melbourne Comeng and Siemens trains at various locations on the Cranbourne and Pakenham lines serving Melbourne's south eastern suburbs. The Comeng EMU's which entered service between 1981 - 1989 and the Siemens 'Nexas' EMU's which entered service between 2003 - 2006 have been the maintstay on the Cranbourne and Pakenham lines for the past two decades. However both types of rollingstock are being displaced from the lines by the new High Capacity Metro Trains (HCMT's) which first entered service in 2020. The introduction of the HCMT's has also led to some Comeng EMU's being retired from service; some of which are seen in this video.

This video is a compilation of Comeng and Siemens trains at various locations along the lines, largely recorded in 2021 when the two types of trains were still aplenty and the HCMT's had yet to get a foothold on the line. Locations visited include Oakleigh, Caulfield, Huntingdale, Yarraman, Hallam (before it was rebuilt), Berwick, Cardinia Road, Springvale, and more.
