France announced that it has begun developing a new UAV that can be controlled from aircraft, along with the Rafale F5 standard.

On October 8, French Armed Forces Minister Sébastien Lecornu announced the start of development of an armed unmanned aerial vehicle (UCAV) that will complement the Rafale F5 standard that will arrive after 2030. The announcement was made at a ceremony held at Saint-Dizier air base to mark the 60th anniversary of the French Strategic Air Force, with the participation of General Jérôme Bellanger, Chief of Staff of the French Air and Space Force, and Éric Trappier, Chairman and CEO of Dassault Aviation.

According to the press release, the UAV to be developed will benefit from the achievements of the nEUROn program, which is Europe's first stealth UAV demonstrator. The Rafale F5, just like the Mirage IV, is planned to combine with UAV and its evolutions to ensure France's independence and superiority in capability in the coming decades.
