August 30-31, 2024: Northern Lights, Cadillac, Michigan

We headed North From Rockford, MI around 10pm to get out of the clouds. The clouds were clearing from NW to the East. I started shooting east of Manton, MI, north of Cadillac, MI around 11:35pm Eastern, on August 30. We found a Christmas tree farm. We moved around 1am south of Cadillac, MI and I continued shooting at Tunstin Scenic Overlook along 131 around 1:45 am. I ended my shoot at 4:00am Eastern.

This was the first time I attempted to shoot the Milky Way with my 16mm f1.8 lens. I did not have any star tracker, it was all manual. To get the northern lights in the frame was simply breathtaking. Everything is protected by copyright.
